Berry Creek Middle School opened in August, 1996 at 1000 Miller Ranch Road in Edwards, Colorado. Berry Creek is an academic leader in Eagle County and has opened the 2007-2008 school year with approximately 300 students. The staff at Berry Creek focuses on student achievement and personal development. New to this year, Berry Creek has implemented a dress code. Students must wear Berry Creek uniform t-shirts, polos, and hoodies, which can be purchased at the school. Pants or shorts must be black or khaki. Female students are allowed the extra color choice of navy blue.

Students at Berry Creek are also given the opportunity to be involved in our Dual Language Program. The goal of the Dual Language Program is to help students become bilingual/biliterate in Spanish and English. Students are also encouraged to explore, understand and embrace important aspects of different cultures. The students enrolled in the Dual Language Program receive 30% of their instruction time in Spanish and 70% in English. All BCMS Dual Language teachers are highly qualified in their specific areas. 75% of our Dual Language teachers are bilingual themselves.

Aside from the traditional core classes offered at Berry Creek (Language Arts, Reading, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies), students are introduced to a number of elective or rotation classes. It is possible for students to be enrolled in as many as four different electives per trimester. Our elective classes include: music/band, art, technology, industrial arts, fitness, physical education, life management skills (cooking and sewing) and study skills.  Students also have the opportunity to participate in the spelling bee, the geography bee, the science fair and the EAGLE program for gifted and talented students.

Berry Creek also offers a wide array of extra-curricular activities for students to participate in. These activities include: football (7th & 8th), volleyball, boy’ and girl’s basketball (6th, 7th and 8th grade), wrestling, track & field and academic soccer. Students are required to maintain a passing GPA to participate in sports. Congratulations to the 7th grade boy’s football team who won the league championship this year. Great job guys!
